Black Girl Vitamins Unveils $100K Scholarship Fund for Black Women in Medicine

In a bold move to address health disparities and promote representation in healthcare, Black Girl Vitamins has launched a $100,000 scholarship fund dedicated to Black women pursuing medical careers at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). The initiative, spread over two years, will provide scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 to students in fields like nursing, medicine, pharmacy, and public health.

With only 2.8% of U.S. doctors identifying as Black women, this scholarship aims to change the face of healthcare by empowering future leaders who reflect the communities they serve. Applicants must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher and submit a 300-word essay detailing their goals and commitment to serving underrepresented populations.

This initiative is part of Black Girl Vitamins’ broader mission to improve health outcomes in Black communities. From sponsoring Howard University’s Women’s Basketball team to donating over $100K in vitamins, BGV continues to invest in the future of Black women’s health and leadership.
