When officers arrived, they found 15-year-old Unique Prater suffering from a wound alone on the ground. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Currently, there are no leads or suspects in Unique’s case. At this time, an investigation is underway, and anyone with information is asked to call the Columbus police. On a Wednesday night in South Jackson, another teenage girl was found at the intersection. Jackson police responded to complaints shortly before six o’clock in the evening and located a body near the crossroads. According to Hinds County Coroner, the victim was later identified as Samaya Anderson, 15. Witnesses said they heard over a dozen rounds. Samaya’s mother says she believes her daughter became a target after an altercation between a group of people.
