Melody Shari Hosts Glamorous Premiere of The Childcare Cartel in Atlanta

Updated: Jul 28, 2025

Hey Lovelys,

Brown Girls Link Up was invited to an unforgettable night in Atlanta as award-winning actress and business mogul Melody Shari hosted the private premiere of The Childcare Cartel. This wasn’t just a red carpet moment. It was a full-on celebration of Black women in business, legacy, and leadership.

The event took place at Modex Studio, a sleek, state-of-the-art venue in the heart of Buckhead. Known for its immersive production capabilities and luxe ambiance, the space was transformed into a pastel paradise. Think candlelit walkways, cascading florals, and branded decor that made every corner Instagram-worthy. The Bella Xperience curated the entire look, and it was nothing short of stunning.

A Premiere with Purpose

The evening kicked off with networking, music, and cocktails, followed by a powerful panel moderated by Melody Shari. She brought warmth, wit, and wisdom to the stage as she guided the cast through real conversations about the childcare industry, entrepreneurship, and the emotional labor behind building empires.

The cast, Sherri J. White, Janaya Burke, Keisha “Starr” Archer, Martika Reddick, and Sydney Jordan, each brought their own flavor to the conversation. These women are not just running centers. They’re running the culture.

Sherri J. White, the show’s creator and executive producer, said,

“My heart is so full seeing everyone’s excitement for The Childcare Cartel. As the owner of three daycare centers in Atlanta, it has been my pleasure to create a cultural shift and bring together a group of like-minded women with the vision to build a legacy that will disrupt the status quo and inspire generations to come.”

Janaya Burke, the youngest of the cast and Sherri’s daughter, is stepping into her own lane. She’s merging wellness and childcare with her new center and spa concept.

“I’m learning to lead in my own way. This show gave me the space to grow and be seen,” she shared during the panel.

Keisha “Starr” Archer, who owns two centers, reflected on her journey from nightlife to nurturing.

“People don’t realize how much strength it takes to run a center and still show up for your own family. This show is about that balance,” she said.

Sydney Jordan, known for her luxe childcare environments, added,

“We’re not babysitters. We’re educators, CEOs, and community builders. This show finally shows that.”

Celebrity Guests Show Love

Chanel Nicole Scott, CMO of In the Black Network, was glowing as she shared her first reaction to the show’s title.

“When I first heard the name, I was like, oh wow. This will catch some eyeballs. I thought it was absolutely creative.”

Restaurateur and philanthropist Ebony Austin also attended and praised the show’s message.

“This is what we need more of. Real women, real business, and real impact. I’m proud to support this,” she said.

A Taste of Celebration

Guests were treated to a culinary experience by Chef Tanya Chavis of Pretti Plates. The menu included jerk chicken, seafood rice, vegan selections, and custom cocktails named after the show. My personal favorite was the “Playground Punch,” a mocktail that was as vibrant as the crowd.

The night ended with a private screening of the first episode. The room erupted in applause. It was clear that The Childcare Cartel had struck a chord. The show blends ambition, authenticity, and sisterhood in a way that feels fresh and necessary.

Final Thoughts

As someone who believes in the power of women linking up to build and grow, this event was everything. The Childcare Cartel isn’t just a show. It’s a blueprint. It’s a reminder that childcare is not just about watching children. It’s about shaping futures, building wealth, and leading with heart.

I left inspired, empowered, and ready to keep showing up in rooms where culture, community, and commerce collide. This series is about to shift the game, and I’m so glad I got to witness it from the front row.
