Victims identified in lengthy, deadly standoff

CLEVELAND (WJW) – A tense standoff with police that lasted for 12 hours has ended in tragedy, leaving two victims and the suspect dead. The incident began around 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday at a residence near E. 154th Street and Hampstead Avenue in Cleveland.

Police were alerted to the situation when they received a call reporting that a suspect had killed two people. Upon arrival, officers discovered two bodies inside the home. The victims were later identified by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner as 51-year-old #RitchieWelch and 65-year-old #ReginaYoungFellows. Both deaths are being treated as suspected homicides.

In a further twist, a third individual, 57-year-old #NorrisRichardson, was also found dead at the scene. The cause of death has not been disclosed by the medical examiner. Officials revealed that they had attempted multiple times to negotiate with a suspect who had barricaded himself inside the home. However, the standoff ended when the suspect reportedly took his own life.

The investigation into this tragic incident is ongoing. Further information will be released as it becomes available.
