Fatal Shooting at Tuscaloosa County Gas Station Leaves One Dead, Another Jailed

Tuscaloosa, AL - A tragic incident unfolded at a Tuscaloosa County gas station late Saturday night, leaving one woman dead and another in jail. The event has sent shockwaves through the community.

Tuscaloosa police and sheriff’s deputies responded to the Shell station at 1300 Crescent Ridge N.E. at 10:40 p.m. following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they found two women had been shot and were subsequently taken to the hospital. Lashonda Leigh Street, 46, was pronounced dead a short time later.

The Tuscaloosa Violent Crime Unit took over the investigation. Capt. Jack Kennedy stated that investigators interviewed witnesses and reviewed video footage. It was determined that the two women had gotten into an altercation with each other in the parking lot.

The other woman involved, identified as 43-year-old Rosanna Latrice Wilson, is alleged to have shot Street. Wilson was also struck during the incident, but her injuries were reported as minor.

Wilson has since been charged with murder in Street’s death. She is currently being held without bond in the Tuscaloosa County Jail.
