Ex-Husband Accused Of Killing Morehouse Medical Resident


MARIETTA, Georgia- Dr. Samantha Woolery was killed on the weekend of June 15th, in her apartment in Marietta, GA. Her body was discovered after her colleagues noticed that she did not show up to work the following morning. The door was found unlocked and the police discovered Woolery with multiple wounds across her body.


The Marietta Police Department caught her ex-husband, Mickey Woolery in Indiana after going on the run. The arrest did not go by smoothly and Woolery was taken in with force. He has been charged with felony murder, felony aggravated assault, felony aggravated battery, felony possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime, and felony malice murder.


Samantha Woolery was 42 years old and a first -year surgical resident at the Morehouse School of Medicine. She had two kids and was about to start her residency on July 1st. A close friend, Mfonsio Ekpo, told FOX5, "She's a friend that's always present. She feels everything you feel. She's always there to support you without judgment.  Mickey Woolery is currently waiting to be extradited from Indiana back to Georgia.
