Downtown Milwaukee shooting; man charged with killing wife on her birthday

MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin — A day of celebration turned into a day of mourning when a Milwaukee man was charged with the shooting death of his wife on her 60th birthday. The victim has been identified as #JackieBeason, 60.

The incident occurred in downtown Milwaukee near North Cass and East Wells streets. According to the Milwaukee Police Department, officers were called to the scene where they found Beason in a Toyota Corolla with a single gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect, #TimothyLewis, 59, was later apprehended by police. Lewis was driving a white Mercedes Benz that had been reported at the shooting scene. Upon his arrest, Lewis admitted to having a gun and a concealed carry permit. He told officers he knew he was “going to jail for a long time” and that police were looking for him.

According to the criminal complaint, Lewis had arranged for his wife to have a massage and pedicure for her birthday. He drove to the area where she was having the massage. It was there that he heard Beason on the phone with her daughter. Lewis stated that he “just lost it right there” and shot Beason once in the jaw.

This tragic incident has left the community in shock and mourning. Beason’s family members are grieving the loss of their loved one on what should have been a day of celebration. Our thoughts are with the friends and family of Jackie Beason during this difficult time.

Lewis has been charged with first-degree reckless homicide. He is currently being held in the #MilwaukeeCountyJail. The investigation into this tragic incident is ongoing.
